RetroAuto Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 There are some new 50mm lowering springs on e-bay, problem is the vendor and maker won't commit to say they will fit my 1997 2.8 4X4. Has anyone experience? Quote

mk2vr6 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 FFS! ITS A GALAXY NOT A F'KIN LAND CRUISER OR A RANGE ROVER! A GALAXY! so why not lower it? are you saying that because it has 4wd you should only jack it up and take it off road? I'd put money on it that the furthest radio bordoms ever been off road in his 4x4 is Tescos carpark and the caravan park at brighton sea front on a bank holiday week end along with all the other sad t##ts in plastic sheds so what your saying is that the other members on here including me who have lowered their galaxys only have the right to do this because ours are/were fwd models? shit I better go outside and remove the uprated anti roll bar on the JEEP as according to you only 2wd vehicles should go round corners at speed! be back later to read your poor excuse of a reply :angry2: I need to go trawl my 4x4 sites to look for a lift kit? anybody have any thoughts on how high I should go? I want to run 34's so I figure I'll need at least a 2 or 3'' body lift as well as the long arm kit! Quote
gregers Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 then with your expertise wolfie/mk2vr6 or whoever else you have decided you want to be today  :angry2: you can kindly advise retroauto on what is required for him to proceed in his quest to lower his car. VR6 i wonder if it is possible to do a bigfoot but using a galaxy, now that would be fun.think you might need a ladder to get to it though m8 :D Quote
mk2vr6 Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 find you nearest WEITEC dealer and talk to them, avoid Fk especially their coil overs and if your going to do it? then do it properly and get the shocks replaced as well! although lowering to a certain level can cause problems :angry2: when your drive shafts run downhill from the hubs to the diffs  it can cause a lot of strain on the drive shafts and wear holes in your under tray! makes for easier oil changes though :D Quote
big_kev Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 along with all the other sad t##ts in plastic sheds Eh...excuse me....I have a caravan ! Oh..no...hold on .....point taken ... :angry2: Quote
